For 2003 the team aware that previous cars had been fast focused primarily on improving reliability. This saw the team continuing with the aluminium honeycomb monococqe construction. The sucessful Yamaha R6 engine continued to provide power for the team. The basic suspension layout was retained from previous years with refinements aimed at improving performance.
